What Is Reiki
Reiki is the simplest healing method known. Special medical knowledge is not necessary to use it because the universal life energy of Reiki posses a wisdom of its own accord. To practice Reiki, no special kind of faith or belief is required. People of many faiths and religions use it with the same success. It is used by free thinkers as well as by the followers of widely differing philosophies and ideologies.

Reiki, the universal life force energy is the source of life itself and is older in concept and fact than any religious philosophy. Many races, cultures and religions have always been aware of the existence of an energy which corresponds to the meaning of ki.

When the Japanese characters Rei and ki are combined they present the concept of “universal life-force energy.” It is important also to know that the Reiki energy belongs to the Universe.

The word REIKI (ray-key) consists of two parts:Ethical Principles of sandra yearms joblonicky reiki master
Rei = is Universal. It refers to the spiritual dimension and soul
Ki = is the Vital life force energy which flows through all that is living

Thus Ki is named as follows:
Chi by the Chinese
light or Holy Ghost by Christians
Prana by the Hindus
Mana by the Kahunas
Bioplasmic energy by Russian researchers
other descriptions include…

Ch’i Kung instructor, Mantak Chia defines Ch’i as “energy, air, breath, wind, vital breath, vital essence…the activating energy of the universe.” Ch’i or Ki is an electrical type of energy that creates the body and determines the state of health. When Ki departs the living organism, life has departed. Ch’i or Ki is also the essential life force of the Earth, the planets, the stars and the heavens, and these sources of the energy affect the living body’s Ki. Everything alive contains Ki and radiates it—Ki is the bio-magnetic energy of the aura.

What Reiki Is Not
Reiki is not a religion! It has no doctrines, creeds or contradictions to the Universal Laws of Consciousness and Love. It is a pure energy form; a holistic technique for directing natural life energy. We were all born with Reiki, the universal life force energy in us…it is the power of life itself.

What Reiki Does
Reiki can do no damage, it only flows in the quantities necessary for the recipient because it has wisdom of its own. Reiki supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself, balances the body’s energies, loosens up blocked energy and promotes a state of total relaxation. It adjusts itself according to the needs of the recipient. When someone is treated with Reiki the individual is brought back into a state of unity with the Harmony of the Universe.

Reiki makes its own way to the area of the body in need of treatment. It is obviously endowed with a greater wisdom than our own, for it seems to know where, how, and to what extent a client needs it without the Practitioner being able to add or subtract from the effect it produces.

How REIKI Works
Each person reacts in a different way. Since it works where the recipient needs it most, no general rule can be said to exist. During the session, the Practitioner will feel a kind of flowing sensation, often combined with the sensation of warmth…which can turn into heat or become quite cold. The client will often feel the flowing as noticeably as the Practitioner, as well as the sensation of hot and cold.

Because Reiki energy heals whatever needs healing, what happens in a session cannot be predicted. It is literally out of the Practitioner’s hands, even though it is his/her hands that are doing the Reiki.

Reiki can never do damage in any way since it only flows in the quantities necessary for the recipient.

Diane Stein, Author, Essential Reiki, states: “I have no fear that Reiki can be degraded or used for harm, either through misuse or bad intent. The guides simply will not allow it”.

The Practitioner
The Practitioner is only a channel for the energy. It is not the Practitioner’s own limited energy that passes through him/her when hands are placed on a person, but rather a universal one…which leaves the Practitioner strengthened and harmonized afterwards.

The Practitioner—what does he feel and experience?
The Practitioner is only a channel for Reiki and not the source of this energy; rather the Practitioner is placed at its disposal as a kind of catalyst. No special kind of power or ability is necessary and no great effort is required.

The Reiki Practitioner is a channel and must not allow the “Ego-Will” to desire the recipient well. The Reiki practitioner must be a clear vessel through which the healing energy flows. This allows the highest Soul purpose to be the outcome of the healing.

The Reiki I attunement places the person in direct contact with the source of Ki that also increases the life force energy of the person who has received it. The Practitioner experiences an energy that first heals her/him, and then also heals others without depleting her.

My session fee is a donation in the form of a Love Offering…whatever you can afford.
Following in the path of Charlotte Siegler’s philosophy and policy, (Founder, Carmel Temple, Houston), and being attuned by Ms Stein and In keeping with her request…I have adopted to carry on their ethics of low prices and scholarships where needed and to continue demystification of a healing system that needs to be Universal. This magnificent healing system, Reiki, must be made available to everyone, regardless of whether they can afford the cost or not.
